Are your Venmo payments public?

Pay attention when you pay someone with Venmo because your financial transactions may be public. Not usually a big deal, but it might be.

You can set up your Venmo payments to be “Private” by default. Apparently, this small detail is overlooked by many of my friends and acquaintances.
Adjust your privacy status when you get ready to pay or request funds, look to the bottom left. Select whether you want it public, for friends eyes only, or private. Mine is set to PRIVATE by default. The soup I ordered, the gift I gave, and the service I paid for is for me to know; not others. And I don't need to know about other's gifts, purchases of vehicles, taxis, mushies, or the litter genie. In fact, it's a little creepy seeing where you spend your money.
You don’t have to believe me, but you might want to read this article.
